Available in audio first, New York Times best-selling author Laurelin Paige's newest red-hot romance!

Weston King knows how to play. But wild nights and owning an extensive collection of women's panties don't carry the thrill they once did, so when his business partner Donovan suggests an outrageous plan to allow them to take over their competition, Wes takes him up on the offer. The crazy idea? Marry the competitor.

Elizabeth Dyson, the bride-to-be in question, is on board with the plan. She wants access to her trust fund and can only get it once she marries. Each has something the other wants - all they have to do is pretend to like each other well enough to tie the knot.

Only trouble is, playing fiancé to Elizabeth isn't quite that simple. Wes finds her sexy and brilliant...and soon wishes their engagement wasn't fake at all. Not that he'd ever tell her that.

But a lover boy like Wes can only stand an empty bed for so long...and even the best of players has to put down his cards eventually.

Audiobooks aren't my first preference when wanting to get lost in a story. I always worry that the voices won't appeal to me and that it could possibly affect my enjoyment. I love to pick a quote in the book that stood out for me and share it in my review, which is pretty hard to do with audiobooks. But I will say these are perfect if you have a long commute to work or you're planning a road trip, which I was last weekend and this audiobook made a five and a half hour drive seem like nothing at all. I love Laurelin Paige's stories and she didn't disappoint with "DIRTY SEXY PLAYER". This is a spin-off of the "Dirty Duet" series, but don't worry if you didn't read the duet, the story is easy to follow.

For those of you who love romances with a Sexy Billionaire Alpha male and one of your favorite tropes is "enemies to lovers", you will want to get your hands on this as soon as possible! Elizabeth Dyson is a beautiful young heiress who, according to a stipulation in her late father's will, must get married if she wants to inherit the family's media empire. Donovan Kinkaid, who co-owns an Advertising Corporation with two of his close friends, reaches out to Elizabeth with a proposition. She marries his partner, Weston King, and they buy a portion of her business, while she gets to keep the rest.

Weston has been a well-renowned ladies man for quite some time and the thought of marriage is not in the least bit appealing to him, until the moment he meets Elizabeth. The attraction between the two is palpable, but they seem to end up in heated arguments whenever they're in the same room together. The two manage to successfully appear as a young couple that's madly in love, which is crucial as Liz's cousin, who wants to take her father's company away from her, is suspicious of their union and has eyes everywhere on them.

Both Weston and Liz can't deny that deep down they are starting to develop true feelings for each other and once they finally give in to the inevitable, it's a feeling of pure relief. The constant bickering and moments of self-doubt on both ends were starting to wear on this reader's patience!

Book one ends on the day of the couple's wedding and an unexpected turn of events leaves us with a huge cliffhanger!! Not sure how I'm going to be able to wait until NOVEMBER to get all the answers!

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4
Angst: 4
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

This story was incredible in the craziest of ways!! The characters drove me nuts, the plot was more than enjoyable, and I'm sitting here still trying to come to grips with what I just read! I need book two, Dirty Sexy Games, NOW!!

Weston King was the KING of players. He was the real love 'em and leave 'em type. He was loving life, loving building his company, and loving bachelorhood. And then his partner comes up with a radical idea - an arranged marriage to expand the company. He knows someone who needs a husband to get what she wants and it would work out to be a win-win. Except Weston has plans of his own (future kinda plans that he still wasn't sure about) and a fake marriage wasn't part of them. But anything for the company, right?

Elizabeth Dyson was a privileged princess. She didn't have a job and she had no clue how to run a business. But she was smart, she had integrity, and she wasn't leaving her legacy in the hands of someone who wasn't honorable. A marriage of convenience may not have been what she was working towards, but it was the answer to her prayers. She just has to keep reminding herself how fake this relationship with Weston is.

It was hilarious to watch these two characters fight the inevitable. Their chemistry was insane and their battle of wits was entertaining to say the least. They acted like immature brats, widening the distance between them, and ensuring that their relationship remained as 'fake' as possible. But everything they were feeling and experiencing was very real. They were on the road to something beautiful, something so genuine and so unexpected. I loved every moment of their journey!

Side note: Sabrina... honeychild... where's your self-respect? Being used as a toy or as a stand-in isn't something a smart and beautiful woman should strive for and you weren't winning any points with me. I'm really hoping my opinion of you changes in the future. I really do.

So yeah, there's OW drama and I didn't appreciate it, but I did get that it was necessary to the plot and for the development of the characters and their story. And then with that extra bit of drama at the end, I can't even imagine how the author is going to make this work. WTH?! Book two can't come out soon enough!!

Weston King is one of the most eligible bachelors in New York. He owns a successful advertising agency called Reach Inc. with his best friend and business partner Donovan Kincaid. At almost 29, he's well known as a player, and enjoys the single life. He plays hard, but works even harder. So when Donovan suggests an unconventional plan to grow their business, he see's it as his chance to really contribute and make a difference. Reach is their future, and the benefits from this arrangement would last a lifetime.

Elizabeth Dyson is a 25 yr. old only child, and the sole heir of the Dyson empire. He father passed away about eight months ago, and to access her fortune and claim what's rightfully hers, she must be 29 or married. She didn't want to wait four years to take over Dyson Media, and was determined to find a way around the terms. Her father was traditional and controlling, and her uncle was running the business into the ground. If she didn't act fast, there may be nothing left. She wanted a platform to shape her own legacy, and was prepared to do something drastic. That something drastic comes when she's approached by Reach Inc. to merge their companies in the form of a fake marriage with an expiration date. Elizabeth would gain access to her family company, and this union would take Reach to the next level, and make them the biggest advertising company in Europe.

Weston steps up, and takes one for the team by agreeing to marry Elizabeth. He couldn't believe he was even considering this, much less agreeing to this farce. They had to sell themselves as a couple through an engagement, and convince everyone their in love. It was to be a whirlwind romance and the relationship has to appear legitimate. They are just two people tied to each other through a temporary arrangement playing house.

Suddenly the part their playing begins to feel real. She makes him crazy, as they constantly clash, but the sexual tension is off the charts. She's an outspoken, confident, sexy, intelligent woman, and a temptation he can no longer resist. He wants to get her out of his system, and explore these new feelings. It's becoming harder and harder to play this game as their connection grows, and things turn physical.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

-God, how I wanted Weston.

-It was just a kiss and I felt like he was undressing me. Just a kiss, and I felt like he was discovering things about me that I didn't even know about myself. Just a kiss, and I never wanted him to stop kissing me.

-She was in my head. She was under my skin.

-Was this what love felt like? And if so, how could I get her to look at me, to feel for me the way I was feeling for her?

-It wasn't a business arrangement I wanted. I just wanted her.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Elizabeth is torn. Weston infuriates her, yet she craves his touch. He riles her up and confuses her. She desires him, and wants him to really be hers. They've become each others weakness, and both want more. Is their relationship still just a sham, or could they have a future together?

I really enjoyed this book! I've been dying for Weston's story since we first met him in Dirty Filthy Rich Boys. I can't wait for the conclusion to Weston & Elizabeth's hot, explosive relationship in book 2 of the Dirty Games Duet.

Something in that indifferent stare of hers made me want to eat her up. Tear her apart. Find her heart and see what made it beat faster.

Weston King initially got my attention in Dirty Filthy Rich Men, by the time I got to Dirty Filthy Rich Love I was desperate for his book. I'm a sucker for an enemies to lovers trope. Add a marriage of convenience into that mix and I'm putty in your hands. Putty, I tells ya!

Weston was my favorite sort of bad boy; irreverent, cocky, and sexier than sin. If you've read the Dirty Duet, then you already know a good chunk of this story. But what you don't know, is the nitty gritty details of this deliciously sexy set up between Weston and Elizabeth.
He kissed the way he fought—mean and hot, bordering on explosive.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Elizabeth because I wasn't a huge fan of her in the previous book. But getting to be inside her head in this one definitely helped to endear her to me. She's still not my favorite heroine of this author, but she did manage to grow on me. She's one tough broad, and even if I found her to be a touch abrasive at times, I appreciated her backbone and ambition.

The push and pull between her and Weston was like being on a rollercoaster. These two spend a good chunk of the book fighting with each other, then fighting to rip the clothes of each other, and then back to fighting. They were so hot and cold, it made me want to drink or rip my hair out. But I also gobbled it right up. I love me some battle of wills with a heavy undercurrent of sexual tension, and these two had it in spades.

To be quite honest, this book was a solid 4 stars, if not higher for me. But then I got to the end and one plot device managed to kick me right off of my book high. Now this may work for a large chunk of readers, but for this reader? I didn't care for it at all. But I do have faith that the amazing talent that is Laurelin Paige just may make me change my mind with book 2. Perhaps this will serve a bigger purpose or drive the plot forward. But as far as this book goes, it simply didn't work for me. I was very bummed because I was enjoying it immensely up until that point and then it kind of hit a brick wall. Don't get me wrong, I still liked the book, but I could have done without that one particular twist.

Will I read the next book? Abso-freaking-lutely! I'm beyond invested in this couple and can't wait to see how it all concludes.

Narrator Review: Elena Wolfe & Jacob Morgan
Distinguishable between characters: 5 Stars
Impersonating opposite sex: 5 Stars
Accents: Minimal with side characters. 5 Stars
Any critiques: None
Overall enjoyment of Performance: 5 Stars. I absolutely love both narrators. Jacob's voice is sexy!
Recommend audible version: Yes, Highly recommend!

Story Review:
If you read Dirty Filthy Rich Men and Dirty Filthy Rich Love, you would think you already got Weston and Elizabeth's story but you would be so wrong. You get some repeated scenes except this time you get them in Weston and Elizabeth's POV.

I was so wrong with my assumptions of what was happening when I read the same scenes in Donovan's books. There were only a few repeated scenes, so no worries that you are just getting a repeated story. You're not.

Also, You don't have to read Donovan and Sabrina's books first to enjoy this book. You would not be lost. If you did read their book first, you do get a bit more revealed for Donovan. Manly just my assumptions being wrong again. Donovan was so secretive in his book and I think you get to see more of his manipulations in this one and you'll understand him a bit more.

I found it pretty funny the way these two fumbled their way into love. Man is Weston clueless. I also liked Elizabeth more. I just wasn't sure about her in Donovan's books and she wasn't as bratty as I thought she was.

This does end on a cliffhanger but the author has made it known that she plans on writing duets for all the guys, so it was expected. I'm really looking forward to the next book! I believe the next book will be all new material, no more repeated scenes. I'm pretty sure we will be past the time line from Donovans books. Audible ARC provided by Author.

I am utterly fascinated by these characters! Laurelin Paige has bewitched me with this series!
I cannot get enough!

Review of audiobook version:
Weston and Lizzie’s story is performed brilliantly by Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe. Both narrators were spot on and really brought the characters to life. And let’s not forget how amazing Jacob Morgan’s voice is! ❤️

I’ve really grown to LOVE Laurelin’s stories because she always delivers something that I didn’t expect. The narratives are not only entertaining, but intriguing. I like trying to figure out what’s going to happen next, only to be blind-sided by the plot twist. These characters don’t take it easy on one another. There’s a lot going on and the intermingled dynamics are truly fun to watch.

What I enjoyed most was seeing those interactions from this new perspective. Since the timeline is similar to the first duet, you get a better picture of everything this time around. It’s a fascinating and sexy story that’s sure to please. I highly recommend it!

Weston will pretty much do most things that Donovan Kincaid asks of him, after all he owes the guy for helping him out when he really needed it the most. However, when he is asked to marry a woman he has never laid eyes on, because it will be a good long term business arrangement for their company, he definitely takes pause to consider this unexpected request.

Elizabeth is smart, successful and beautiful. She is beyond frustrated with what has been happening at her family owned business, her incompetent cousin seems hell bent on ruining all of the hard work her family have put in over the years. She needs to do something drastic to take control of what will one day be hers. When Donovan Kincaid comes to her with his idea of a marriage proposition, she in intrigued.

When Weston first lays eyes on Elizabeth he is rendered speechless. She is exactly the sort of woman he would normally go for and she is an absolute knock out too. This immediate attraction seems to turn him into a bit of douche as it leaves him feeling completely confused and aroused in equal measure. No one has ever gotten under his skin as fast as Elizabeth seems to be able to.

These two completely clash, they disagree on everything, spend most of their time arguing and are insanely attracted to each other. Weston seems to have a permanent boner and is slowly dying from blue balls. Elizabeth is battling with her desire to be with him and not fall for his player charm.

‘I wanted to fucking be in her arms. I wanted to be in her bed, wanted to be inside her – and since I still couldn’t stand her, the whole idea had me in turmoil.’

Weston shamelessly flirts with Elizabeth and a few times the lines get blurred. The building desire between them becomes to hard to ignore and some no strings fun to ease the sexual tension couldn’t hurt right? After all they are going to become man & wife so some hot exclusive sex with each other would help both of them through this arrangement.

I don’t think either of them ever anticipated just how amazing in bed things would be and what was once an arrangement seems to be organically growing into something more. Maybe this dirty sexy player has finally met his match?

I was completely hooked into this story after getting a glimpse of this couple in the Dirty Duet. I love where Laurelin took these characters and then just when I sat down in my comfort zone a nice little cliff hanger came along! Not a horribly painful one but very much a bubble popping, angst inducing plot twist that will make things very complicated in the next book. Bring it on!

I didn't hate it but only because of the narrators...

I think I'm showing my age...AGAIN!! I just found myself confounded that these characters could create so much unnecessary drama. For crikey sakes, these were characters in their late 20's early 30's and acted like high school kids. The heroine acted like a spoilt and whiney brat. I'm thinking the fake relationship plotline has lost its charm for me. I was not overly impressed that the hero has his real relationship prospect already picked out for when the fake relationship had run its course. None of it made sense and the heroine's ability to overlook his douchewaffle ways baffled me.

The selling point for Dirty Sexy Player was definitely the narration. Both narrators are AMAZING and every time I've listened to this duo together, I have been more than happy with their performance.

I did listen to the whole story knowing there was a cliffy, but that was the most wishy-washy cliffy I've ever experienced. I scoffed at that ending and wasn't even remotely interested in listening to the second in the duet. If this was their major test and they struggle with it, they don't even deserve to find their happy ever after.

“…I just didn’t expect to actually drop dead from his sexiness.” – Elizabeth

This book…my friends…is in one word… “sexy” . It’s the kind of sexy that just collides with what is going on around you and holds you in its hot…and yes…dirty thrall. It is also the extremely anticipated first half of Weston’s story for all who were “Team Weston” during the book duo (with Prologue) that started the whole saga, the “Dirty Duet”.
Dirty Filthy Rich Boys (Dirty Duet, #0.5) by Laurelin Paige Dirty Filthy Rich Men (Dirty Duet, #1) by Laurelin Paige Dirty Filthy Rich Love (Dirty Duet, #2) by Laurelin Paige

I suppose enough backstory from the first series is provided in this book for a reader to begin with this duet and nothing is spoiled for you if you were to read the first duet after finishing this story. If you enjoyed this book then I would certainly encourage you to read the first duet. I love the subtle reference from the movie, “Sabrina” and in so referencing, the story also alludes to the poem,“Sabrina Fair” from John Milton in the first series. Many readers fell in love with Weston’s super sexy dirty player persona as opposed to Donovan’s over-the-top barely emotive Uber Alpha asshole persona which has its charm for those of us who love an asshole who is in control. Please note…the operative phrase in the preceding sentence is “in control”. Donovan is in control of himself and those in which he has…ahem…some interest.

This book begins with Donovan's arrangement for Weston to marry for “business” reasons. The woman he is to marry is completely on board with the proposition. In fact, it will benefit her greatly, as well, due to some gender bias clause her father put in his will when stipulating how and when she would be in charge of the business empire he bequeathed to her. The plan is a monthslong engagement, a suitable wedding and then a quiet divorce. For many reasons, Donovan strongly suggests that Weston and Elizabeth refrain from any sex and Weston must refrain from his favorite activities while engaged and married to lend credibility and avoid any challenge to the legitimacy of their relationship. He is quite the manwhore. Although he does like to please his women, but it has always been one and done.

This is a perfect set-up for sexual tension because naturally Weston finds Elizabeth super attractive not just because she is gorgeous but because she is smart. Elizabeth just about loses it over how handsome Weston is and while he makes her comfortable and is willing to teach her all about business, at times he can be a real jerk. Not to mention that he checks out every woman that comes across his path and his sexual exploits are on display online for the world to see. The shifting dynamic between these two is the stuff in which we, romantics, lose ourselves. Most especially as they get to know one another, it's like they are circling each other moving in closer and closer. Their first kiss described is a work of art by this author.

The skillful relatable writing is ultimately what makes this story work…to include the masterful way this author writes the erotic scenes. These scenes are every dirty girls’ delectable, delightful, delicious daydream come true in the written word. Ms. Page does not disappoint on this score.
The end is almost fairytale-like. But...there is a curve ball thrown at the reader and given who Weston is…this is a highly probable occurrence. It sets the reader up for the next book in the duet but I really do not mind. I received my money’s worth of entertainment. This book is far better than some mind-numbing movie and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

So friends…if you like a dirty distraction in your day… (Believe me…here lately…these distractions are what keep me sane, happy and hopeful.) …then open this one up and say hello to Weston…oh…and Elizabeth too!!! Afterall, she is a worthy heroine for our Dirty Sexy Player.

Favorite quotes:

“I liked women. Period. But I did have a type. Smart.
I could spot a hot brain a mile away.” - Weston

“I was grateful for every part of her that she let me see, thankful for her trust and the honor, and I showed her in every way I knew. I made up ways just for her, watching her closely to gauge what she liked. What she loved. So many times I’d prided myself on giving a woman pleasure, but it had always been for my own satisfaction. So I could take the glory. So I could bask in the title of best lover. But with every kiss, with every graze of her skin, tonight I truly wanted her to feel good. Wanted her to know how beautiful she was, how fucking incredible. I wanted to please her. I wanted to love her.” - Weston

Nope. After my disgust with Donovan Kincaid’s story, I should have trusted my gut about how Weston’s would be.

I’ll admit, dominance in the bedroom turns me off. Bossy is fine, but I just don’t see the appeal of the way it seems to be written. All. The. Time. I just roll my eyes.

So, I marked this as spoilers because I’m going to complain about a few things in particular:

• The time jumping in this book was horrendous! They would jump weeks—even a month—at times to fly through this ‘fake engagement’ meaning NOTHING important went on, which begs the question; “Why is this fake engagement such a bad thing when there’s really no hiccups along the way?” Also, something would happen in the story, the next scene had them skipping ahead weeks, but the characters still acted as though the book’s previous scene had JUST happened, even though two weeks or more had already passed.

• Elizabeth’s mother is a bitch with a capital C. Openly hitting on Weston at their engagement party just because she knows it’s fake? “Can you not be a MILF for one night?” Really?? Grow up.

• Erections. Erections everywhere. I’m just so, SO tired of men in these stories getting hard-ons like teenage boys. Get yourselves under control.

• Weston’s jealous over Elizabeth’s ex, Clarence, yet he’s got plans to wife up his ex, Sabrina, once this arrangement is over in a few more months. Real nice. Hate that quality when it’s used like this. So he takes Clarence’s phone number in his phone, because “no woman of mine is going to have another guy’s number in her phone”. Then next scene, Elizabeth is asking for Clarence’s number, but we’re supposed to believe that a month had passed. And they had been cohabitating that whole time. Why is she just now asking for it? (Again, see my first bullet point.)

• Elizabeth asks for Weston’s health records to make sure he’s clean WHEN THEY’RE NOT EVEN HAVING SEX. Like, what??? She’s unreal. She later inner monologues that she only asked him to get him worked up. GROW UP.
This whole health records thing caused this big blow out, where Elizabeth showed just how bitchy and childish she was. She nags Weston constantly about being realistic about this engagement to make it believable, but she’s quick to cause a problem! He texts her to meet him for dinner with his company to celebrate a new deal they closed, and she’s telling him no because he didn’t give her his health records. All the while, Weston’s being rational, telling her how bad it will look if his new fiancé isn’t there when significant others are joining. She still texts him no, like a spoiled little child.

• You can’t reach a g-spot with your tongue. Sorry. Pretty sure Gene Simmons couldn’t even do that. And if a woman is facing you, and you reach around her backside to finger her, your thumb is most definitely not on her fun-button. Making sure your sex acts are anatomically possible is SO IMPORTANT.

So, basically, I didn’t finish this book. Made it about 75%, I think? The characters were inconsistent and annoying, behaving as teenagers instead of “mature” adults. Best thing this book had was a sexy cover and the best narrators. But not even Jacob Morgan/Zachary Webber’s narration could save this one.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Sexy. Really really sexy story. That is what first comes to my mind listening to this audio book. Sexy steamy romance story. I am not stranger to plot that is about marriage of convenient. But this book is different. It has some power play involved. And I do like the power play. I wish I can have Weston as my business adviser. It surely sounds very alluring to have Weston.

And the cliffhanger.... goodness! Its surely keep everything on the cliff. The writing is fast paced and sucks you into the politic of the business world and the power play. I love a good power play plot. I also like Elizabeth's transformation from naive innocent woman to be the ruler of the world. Its very refreshing to read where the heroine is finally gets to be on the top of the world.

I surely will want to read the conclusion of the story.

The minor things that I feel a bit shaky is the background of why Weston agrees to Donovan plan at the beginning of the book. I wish there is more story about it.

I hope you've read the first duet about Donovan and Sabrina? Because this book, this duet, takes place around the same time. Donovan just told Wes that he should marry Elizabeth. That way her cousin would lose control of the company because her dad said in his will that she'll get her inheritance once she's 29 - or married. She's only 25 now and cousin Darrell is running the company into the ground. Through that marriage Wes and Donovan's company would get to partner with the ad-agency side of Elizabeth's company - making them the biggest ad agency in Europe. Win-win for everyone. BUT - Wes never thought he'd get married - and now he will but he can't have fun with the whole thing, like with sex and stuff? ☺

But the sparks are mega-flying between the newly engaged couple!

Let the fun times begin!

What will happen with Elizabeth & Wes?
Will there be a Happy End???
Or a huge Cliffy???
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!☺

ADORABLE!

Both Wes and Elizabeth are mega attracted to each other. But of course this won't be a real marriage. But it could be a little bit, right? But what if one night would destroy the next months?

But of course both can't resist the other for long.

Also, they have to convince everyone and cousin Darrell that this is real - what better way to prove that than to have it be really real?

VERY sexy and adorable and funny romance - can't wait to get my hands on book #2 - grrrr Cliffhangers!

DIRTY SEXY PLAYER was a very sexy and adorable first book in this duet - hurry november - I NEED TO SEE HOW THIS LOVE STORY WILL END!

I have soooooo many feelings about this story right now. I know when the duet is finally finished that the story will be powerful. But the problem is that this part of the story just didn't have enough wow factor for me to say gimme right now! .

There's actually two surprises at the end of the story. One made me roll my eyes and sigh (really?) and the other I saw coming (the Epilogue of Dirty Filthy Rich Love kinda gives it away) so it wasn't a surprise at all .... so yeah, not a wow for me.

Last thing I will say is that if you have read the Dirty Duet and are a super fan like myself, the bones of this story you already knew. That being said, nothing about this story really surprised me. This super fan has wanted to read the journey of Weston and Elizabeth since last September and I was beside myself when this landed on my kindle but then .... *sigh* *sad face* I'd pretty much already read it so far!

HOWEVER I'm super stoked to read the next chapter in their journey because I know Laurelin is fantastic with the twists and turns and wait, what? I'm looking forward to a lot of drama and tension and #feels because that's what this author normally delivers!

Audiobook Review: 5 Stars

Weston played with my heart!! And he won!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely!! Especially if she read The Dirty Duet, where this story was seen through the eyes of other people. And the fact that Dirty Sexy Player is available only in audio right now, it makes it even more awesome, because of Elena Wolfe & Jacob Morgan's narrations, because they know how to make a sexy story sexier, and because all the books in this "Dirty" universe are simply perfection.

What other book might you compare Dirty Sexy Player to and why?

When I was listening to DSP, I thought of Marriage of Inconvenience by Penny Reid, because the basics of both stories are "similar". 1. A marriage of convenience. 2. The woman has to prove she's worthy of being the heiress of a huge empire. 3. There's a member of her family who thinks otherwise. But... both stories are completely different from each other despite these similarities.

Dirty Sexy Player starts before the events of Dirty Filthy Rich Men. Donovan—the sexy man from the Dirty Duet—comes with the perfect idea of Elizabeth Dyson and Weston King getting married with a win-win outcome: Elizabeth gets control of her father's company and Donovan and Weston's company gets to have the first option to purchase one of Elizabeth's companies. Their marriage was a business transaction. But it had to be "real" in front of everyone. But....

And this is where the story gets sooooo good.... I loved the hate-love relationship Weston and Elizabeth had. Elizabeth had a hard exterior with a little vulnerable side and Weston had the power to bring that from her. And Weston was the player of players, and being forced to being "celibate" during their fake relationship drove him wild, wanting to kill her and f*ck her at the same time. And it was amazing to read both their POVs. Because they knew how to "pretend" even to one another but inside they were falling more and more for each other.

And.... When finally everything was perfect for both of them, something so unexpected happened and Elizabeth and I—I'm sure Weston too—ended up with our hearts broken and a huge cliffhanger, with the signature of Laurelin Paige.

What about Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan ’s performance did you like?

They did an amazing job with both their performances. The narration for the sex scenes was on point, super sexy and those scenes were perfectly needed for the story, to make it more awesome.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Ohhhhh I totally did!!! *blushes* Something so funny happened to me when I was listening to this audio. I was on a plane and just when the plane was landing, Weston and Elizabeth were making love for the first time and the whole experience was just perfect!! *wink wink*

Any additional comments?

Perfect. Dirty Sexy Player is just perfect. Now I need the next book of this duet or I'll probably die. Soon. Very. Soon.

THAT ENDING!!! Wha….*unruly sobbing*….WHAT?!?

If you’ve read the Dirty Duet, then you’ll know what’s coming from this new Dirty Games Duet, both good (actually, fantastic) and heartachingly sad.

Dirty Sexy Player is one of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to! Granted, I don’t have a ton I’ve listened to under my belt. But personally, it’s right at the top! We know from the previous books what the premise of the storyline is. But this time, we’re given a backstage look into the desperate circumstances and complicated relationship between Weston and Elizabeth. The heat, the chemistry, the conflicting emotions…all of it blends into a beautiful, and shocking, love story.

And to top off the incredible story, the narrators did an absolutely amazing job at portraying the ambience and nature of the characters. I felt, on numerous occasions, like a voyeur – like I was lurking in the shadows with binoculars, eating popcorn, just waiting and anticipating what was going to happen next.

I cannot wait for Dirty Sexy Games! I’ve never said this before, but November cannot come soon enough! And on a side note: when I die, I’m going to haunt Jacob Morgan…just so I can listen to him speak. All day, every day.

5 Stars!

~Kelly

HAHAHA I almost rolled my eyes out of my head with some of the scenes.
The conflict was a bit forced and the childish banter between the two was very annoying. I could not connect with the characters at all.
This being said, even though this story was not my cup of tea, that's no reason for me to give this book a bad review. The writing style and obvious effort behind the book are notable and it was an easy read. Or rather an easy listen on audible. The voice actors did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. All in all it's a good novel but I just can't like the characters. I don't know if I'll read the next one.

“I wanted to please her. I wanted to love her.”

Laurelin Paige, what in god’s name are you trying to do to me! Why you got to play me like that, woman? You know I love you to death, but that was cold! Don’t give me that look. You know what I’m talking about! Grrrrr! Anywho on to the review…

I know you’re gonna want some spoilers after what you just read, but my lips are sealed dammit! You’re not getting a peep out of me other than the fact that NOW you absolutely HAVE to pick up Weston and Elizabeth’s story! You have NO IDEA what you’re in for…NO IDEA! This shouldn’t be a surprise for you, since this is a romance by Ms. Paige. But HOLY HOT DAMN, this book was SMOKIN’ HOT, for real! If you are familiar with this dirty, sexy world, then you are familiar with these two characters and what predicament they got themselves in. I’ve been wanting their story since it all started and oh boy, did I get it!

Antagonistic and flirtatious banter is THROUGH THE DAMN ROOF, up in here! I loved it! I ate it up! I CRAVE so much more! These two characters are scrumptious and I can’t wait to see what comes next! DIRTY SEXY PLAYER is an absolute MUST READ, as is EVERY SINGLE THING that Laurelin Paige has ever written. Can you tell I’m a fan? Well, you need to trust me on this because this woman NEVER disappoints! I love you and I might just hate you a bit, Ms. Paige but you know in the end, I’ll forgive you because I know that you will give these two a happily ever after I will never forget!

Weston King is the ultimate DIRTY. SEXY. PLAYER!

He is sex personified with one hell of a filthy mouth that he more than knows what to do with when it comes to the opposite sex.

He’s a player in every sense of the word, used to getting whoever and whatever he wants.

As soon as I met Weston in Donovan’s Dirty duet, I knew that it was going to take a special kind of woman to make this manwhore a one woman man and even if that woman entered Weston’s life, she had to make him work for EVERYTHING or else he would get bored and she would become just another notch on his bedpost.

Good thing Elizabeth Dyson is more than up for putting this sexy player in his place, which means that their marriage of convenience is going to test both of them in a number of frustrating ways, amping up their love/hate relationship and forcing both Weston and Elizabeth to deal with their conflicted feelings towards one another.

I have to be honest…the sexual tension between these two almost did me in…the build up seemed to never-ending, and while that makes complete sense to me given the dynamics of Weston and Elizabeth’s arrangement and what’s at stake for both of them, it drove me crazy to witness their jealousy…Elizabeth’s insecurities…Weston’s avoidance and every other action that widens the gap and feeds the push and pull between them.

There’s so much chemistry between these two, but neither want to give in to the other because that would put them at a disadvantage, which means not only are they fighting for a company for very different reasons, they’re also fighting their attraction, which is a lot of pressure to deal with when there’s no outlet to do so, which also means that there’s going to be a breaking point for one or both of them but it’s too soon to tell what that will end up meaning in the big picture.

I’m not quite sure where Weston and Elizabeth go from here because, of course, readers are left with a doozy of a cliffhanger, but I know for a fact that Laurelin Paige is not going to make things easy for these two, which is exactly how it should be when two people come together for something other than love and end up playing a game that becomes more real than anything else in their lives.

***AUDIBLE REVIEW***

4.5 CROWNS

I do not listen to audible books, but I couldn't wait for Weston's book. I NEEDED it like air, and it was quite the experience listening to Laurelin's dirty words come out of someone's mouth versus just hearing it in my head. I never anticipated the full experience of having it read to me.

Weston is the epitome of a playboy. If you have read the other standalones/duets in the series, then you are fully aware of this. He is a charmer, a manwhore, and someone who is used to getting his own way. He is a bit manipulated into this facade with Elizabeth, but I enjoyed his resistance to his attraction to her. He has no problems verbally sparring with her, which leads to some great sexual tension between the two.

Elizabeth is in a predicament that forces her to engage with a man she wouldn't normally. However, she is drawn to his charismatic personality, even if she doesn't want to be and resists it with everything that she has. There is a lot of insecurity that comes from her, and, at times, it is a bit much for me. I much prefer when Weston pushes her too far and she comes out swinging. These are the moments when I love her the most.

There is a lot of build up for these two to come together, as it is book one of a duet. At times, I thought, "Please just get to it already." The build up is so long, and the bickering and jealousy almost become too much. Laurelin Paige does deliver an incredible pay off when they do finally give into temptation, and she leaves you with a cliff hanger of epic proportions, although it wasn't a huge surprise based on what we know about the characters.

In terms of the narration, I enjoyed it. I was thrown by the male narrator and female narrator doing each other's voices when the chapter was in their perspective, but I have been assured that this is the way of audible world.

Sexy and fun, Dirty Sexy Player exemplifies everything that we have come to expect from this author and Weston, and I am excited to get the conclusion of their story.

Audiobook Review

Overall 5 stars
Narration 5 stars
Story 4.5 stars

After enjoying the Dirty Duet, I have been more than ready to get Weston and Elizabeth's full story. This enemies to lovers and marriage of convenience romance is so deliciously hot! You don't need to first read the Dirty Duet to enjoy this book, but it will give you insight/alternate view points of different scenes since this follows the same timeline.

Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe are absolutely perfect as Weston and Elizabeth. Morgan especially nails the playful, charming, and sinfully sexy player. These two narrators have incredible talent and their voices complement each other so well in this dual POV romance. I enjoy both their male and female voices and found both performances captivating and entertaining.

Weston and Elizabeth stumble and fight their growing emotions, but it only made me root harder for them to find their way. It's no secret that I am not a fan of the reformed manwhore. Weston's unapologetic and colorful past however, made his confusion about relationships more believable and I found myself falling for him. When I first met Elizabeth in the Dirty Duet, she seemed cold and rigid, but finally being in her head revealed a much more vulnerable and likeable person. All of the banter, pent up frustration, and sexual chemistry between Weston and Elizabeth was so scrumptiously HOT! I loved their back and forth and that each would give as good as they got. Yes, they were frustratingly stubborn, but it all just made it more explosive when things finally boiled over. The story did feel a little rushed to me towards the end with revelations and a surprise or two thrown in, so please keep in mind that this one does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. I can't wait to find out though how Weston and Elizabeth's story ends!

We're going to fuck it out and everything's going to be fine."

Weston King is EVERYTHING!! A dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold! My heart is throbbing (among other things) just thinking about this book! And oh my hell!! I am in TOTAL LOVE with Elizabeth! The sexual tension between Elizabeth and Weston was off the charts hot!!! And the bromance and banter between Weston, Nate and Donovan had me smiling my face off! Loved this book so freaking much! Not only is it sexy, hot and fun it's emotional too. Got me right in the FEELS! An absolute must read from Laurelin Paige, and one of my favourite book boyfriends EVER!

3,8. Estava esperando ansiosa a história de Weston. Ele é um personagem carismático, inteligente, emocional. Mas achei que ficou faltando alguma coisa nesse livro... não me convenceu a história, apesar da autora ser brilhante.

OH MY FREAKING GOSH!!!! What the heck did I just read? And where the hell is the rest of it???
Elizabeth is a gorgeous young heiress but she can’t get her hands on her late father media’s empire unless she is married (daddy’s stipulation). Elizabeth’s cousin is slowly destroying her father’s legacy. Elizabeth is desperate to save her father company but her hands are tied. When Donovan, owner of Advertising Company proposed Elizabeth fake marry one of his co-owner Weston – she jump at the opportunity. OMG! I just love the angst and the love/hate relationship between Elizabeth and Weston. They absolutely cannot stand each other. Elizabeth is gorgeous, driven but inexperience. Weston is smart, confident, successful and the biggest player. They know how to push each other button well and holy moly the sexual tension is off the chart. What happen when fake marriage turned real?

Holy freaking cliffhanger. Weston received some very unexpected news right before the wedding. Just when Elizabeth and Weston finally professed their love for each other … they will have to be separated!!!! AHHHHH!!!! I LOVE you Laurelin but how can you leave me hanging like this???
If you know Laurelin at all she writes incredibly sexy stories. The dialogues are witty and hilarious at times. I love the passion, the chemistry, the entertaining storyline. Well written and unputdownable. Can’t wait for the conclusion.

I honestly spent most of this book just wanting to slap the main characters. Like ... they were just spectacularly stupid, in their determination to fight and be assholes, and never talk about what they were really thinking.

Also, I really struggled with how contrived the basic setup was, and the twist at the end.

Here's the thing about the setup (which isn't a spoiler, this is the bit you know from the blurb): okay, her dad put in some archaic thing about her having to marry in order to inherit. Fine. We've seen that before. But the thing is ... there were no other parameters given. So okay. Britney Spears married some dude for 3 days in Vegas. Why doesn't Elizabeth do that? The will didn't say she had to marry for love (and frankly, given her father's track record with women, he'd never demand that because he probably thinks love is bullshit), nor did it say she had to be married for some minimal length, or that she had to marry someone suitable to the company. We just weren't given any reasoning for why this had to play like this.

And then with the twist: It's ridiculous and contrived and I rolled my eyes so hard that I have a migraine.
