Publisher's summary

Available in audio first, New York Times best-selling author Laurelin Paige's newest red-hot romance!

Weston King knows how to play. But wild nights and owning an extensive collection of women's panties don't carry the thrill they once did, so when his business partner, Donovan, suggests an outrageous plan to allow them to take over their competition, Wes takes him up on the offer. The crazy idea? Marry the competitor.

Elizabeth Dyson, the bride-to-be in question, is on board with the plan. She wants access to her trust fund and can only get it once she marries. Each has something the other wants - all they have to do is pretend to like each other well enough to tie the knot.

Only trouble is, playing fiancé to Elizabeth isn't quite that simple. Wes finds her sexy and brilliant...and soon wishes their engagement wasn't fake at all. Not that he'd ever tell her that.

But a lover boy like Wes can stand an empty bed only for so long...and even the best of players has to put down his cards eventually.

Beware only Part 1 of 2

Good story, but was disappointed when I found that it left you hanging,. The second book , which will tell the rest of the story will not even be out until November 2018 so you are left hanging. Hate that feeling

Enemies to Lovers Perfection!

After enjoying the Dirty Duet, I have been more than ready to get Weston and Elizabeth's full story. This enemies to lovers and marriage of convenience romance is so deliciously hot! You don't need to first read the Dirty Duet to enjoy this book, but it will give you insight/alternate view points of different scenes since this follows the same timeline.

Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe are absolutely perfect as Weston and Elizabeth. Morgan especially nails the playful, charming, and sinfully sexy player. These two narrators have incredible talent and their voices complement each other so well in this dual POV romance. I enjoy both their male and female voices and found both performances captivating and entertaining.

Weston and Elizabeth stumble and fight their growing emotions, but it only made me root harder for them to find their way. It's no secret that I am not a fan of the reformed manwhore. Weston's unapologetic and colorful past however, made his confusion about relationships more believable and I found myself falling for him. When I first met Elizabeth in the Dirty Duet, she seemed cold and rigid, but finally being in her head revealed a much more vulnerable and likeable person. All of the banter, pent up frustration, and sexual chemistry between Weston and Elizabeth was so scrumptiously HOT! I loved their back and forth and that each would give as good as they got. Yes, they were frustratingly stubborn, but it all just made it more explosive when things finally boiled over. The story did feel a little rushed to me towards the end with revelations and a surprise or two thrown in, so please keep in mind that this one does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. I can't wait to find out though how Weston and Elizabeth's story ends!

Beware the Cliffhanger!

Okay - first of all, cliffhangers are a major pet peeve for me unless it's CLEARLY noted that they're cliffhangers. Turns out that if I'd read the Amazon description I would have been forewarned but Audible apparently didn't think that was critical information. Lemme tell ya Audible - it really is important to a lot of us.

Secondly, when the story is dragging on to the point where I speed up my narration twice and still keep checking to see how much longer I have to go until the end, then I have to believe that the author probably could have (and should have) told this story in a single volume instead of putting in a bunch of filler to get a second book out of it. Seriously, there was so much description of the nasty, cruel way these two kept treating each other that I wound up not liking them very much. Add to that a metric ton of heavy-handed foreshadowing that could have been significantly pared down and then to top it off, it didn't even really live up to its hype of being "dirty, sexy" because there's not much sex and what there is of it is (relatively) vanilla compared to a lot of books out there.

Sad to say that despite how much I love a HEA I don't think I care enough about these characters to bother listening to the second book. Honestly this really does make me sad because for the most part the writing is solid and the imagination/story telling is good. The book's not bad, it's just not great and I think it could be great. The author just needs to find an editor who will rein her in.

The one saving grace of this mediocrity? The narration. As always Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan do an impeccable job.

Weston played with my heart!! And he won!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely!! Especially if she read The Dirty Duet, where this story was seen through the eyes of other people. And the fact that Dirty Sexy Player is available only in audio right now, it makes it even more awesome, because of Elena Wolfe & Jacob Morgan's narrations, because they know how to make a sexy story sexier, and because all the books in this "Dirty" universe are simply perfection.

What other book might you compare Dirty Sexy Player to and why?

When I was listening to DSP, I thought of Marriage of Inconvenience by Penny Reid, because the basics of both stories are "similar". 1. A marriage of convenience. 2. The woman has to prove she's worthy of being the heiress of a huge empire. 3. There's a member of her family who thinks otherwise. But... both stories are completely different from each other despite these similarities.

Dirty Sexy Player starts before the events of Dirty Filthy Rich Men. Donovan—the sexy man from the Dirty Duet—comes with the perfect idea of Elizabeth Dyson and Weston King getting married with a win-win outcome: Elizabeth gets control of her father's company and Donovan and Weston's company gets to have the first option to purchase one of Elizabeth's companies. Their marriage was a business transaction. But it had to be "real" in front of everyone. But....

And this is where the story gets sooooo good.... I loved the hate-love relationship Weston and Elizabeth had. Elizabeth had a hard exterior with a little vulnerable side and Weston had the power to bring that from her. And Weston was the player of players, and being forced to being "celibate" during their fake relationship drove him wild, wanting to kill her and *wink wink* her at the same time. And it was amazing to read both their POVs. Because they knew how to "pretend" even to one another but inside they were falling more and more for each other.

And.... When finally everything was perfect for both of them, something so unexpected happened and Elizabeth—I'm sure Weston too—and I ended up with our hearts broken and a huge cliffhanger, with the signature of Laurelin Paige.

**** SIGH ***

What about Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan ’s performance did you like?

They did an amazing job with both their performances. The narration for the sex scenes was on point, super sexy and those scenes were perfectly needed for the story, to make it more awesome.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Ohhhhh I totally did!!! *blushes* Something so funny happened to me when I was listening to this audio. I was on a plane and just when the plane was landing, Weston and Elizabeth were making love for the first time and the whole experience was just perfect!! *wink wink*

Any additional comments?

Perfect. Dirty Sexy Player is just perfect. Now I need the next book of this duet or I'll probably die. Soon. Very. Soon.

Story Review:
If you read Dirty Filthy Rich Men and Dirty Filthy Rich Love, you would think you already got Weston and Elizabeth's story but you would be so wrong. You get some repeated scenes except this time you get them in Weston and Elizabeth's POV.

I was so wrong with my assumptions of what was happening when I read the same scenes in Donovan's books. There were only a few repeated scenes, so no worries that you are just getting a repeated story. You're not.

Also, You don't have to read Donovan and Sabrina's books first to enjoy this book. You would not be lost. If you did read their book first, you do get a bit more revealed for Donovan. Manly just my assumptions being wrong again. Donovan was so secretive in his book and I think you get to see more of his manipulations in this one and you'll understand him a bit more.

I found it pretty funny the way these two fumbled their way into love. Man is Weston clueless. I also liked Elizabeth more. I just wasn't sure about her in Donovan's books and she wasn't as bratty as I thought she was.

This does end on a cliffhanger but the author has made it known that she plans on writing duets for all the guys, so it was expected. I'm really looking forward to the next book! I believe the next book will be all new material, no more repeated scenes. I'm pretty sure we will be past the time line from Donovans books. Audible ARC provided by Author.

Unnecessary cliff hanger ending

I'm not impressed with the cliffhanger ending on this book. This isn't something I object to if the story calls for it, but in this case, if I'd known this was a 2 part book, I'd never have bought it. There's no reason why this story couldn't have been wrapped up relatively easily with another half hour or hour of story. I don't see any need for a 2nd 7 hour long book. I love series' and read them more than I read stand alones. I also heavily object to turning every story into a multi-part book, just to get some extra money out of your readers. As much as I hate leaving a story unfinished, I doubt I'll buy the "second book". What a waste.

Not For Me

I like happy endings and romance. This was not that. If you thrive on conflict and flawed characters this might be for you.

Fun and leaves you wanting more!

Any additional comments?

I couldn’t wait to get Weston and Elizabeth’s story after reading the Dirty Duet, and I loved their story! So much fun! The audio for this is great! The narrators did an excellent job and I laughed so many times throughout the story.

Elizabeth is so much more than what we got of her previously, and Weston, woah, I loved seeing him so rattled and trying to come to terms with his unexpected feelings. It was great to get to know these two more. The way Weston and Elizabeth’s relationship evolves keeps you glued to the pages. The tension, the slow build, the banter, the fight of emotion, it’s awesome! And their chemistry is off the charts.

And dang, Laurelin knows how to end a story leaving you wanting more.

“And for me, perfect was the home I already had.”

Amazing Performance!!

These talented performers will hook you from beginning to end.

I'm a big fan of enemies to lovers stories. Listening to Elena Wolfe & Jacob Morgan storytelling was absolutely fantastic, they had the ability to make me felt transported and experiencing the very emotions the characters were feeling.

Looking forward to more of their performances and more of Author Laurelin Paige's work as well.

I highly recommend this fantastic audiobook!
